Get ready to dive into the exciting world of STEM! Our new club will meet regularly to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through hands-on project builds and experiments.
Why? Our objective is to offer additional STEM extracurricular options to students of SMA that sparks a curiosity for students in their journey into STEM fields. We will support the students as they build fundamental knowledge and experiences that can be used in future studies, whether through self-learning or through other STEM clubs and activities. Additionally, we hope to inspire and inform them as they explore their college aspirations and future career choices.
Who? 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students enrolled at St. Michael.
What? We’ll be kicking the club off with a dive into electronics and computer programming – building, coding and creating together! From here, we can branch into other STEM activities and fields based on student interests.
When/Where? We will meet approximately every other Tuesday 3:30pm-5pm throughout the 2025-2026 school year in the school library. (See exact dates below)
Registration: To register, please email [email protected] by September 5th with your student’s name, age, and an email address for me to add to a mailing list to receive further information about the club. The primary purpose of the registration is to get a count of students to ensure we have enough room and supplies. We are limited to 25 spots, so register early to reserve your student’s spot on a first-come, first serve principle.
Cost: We will split the club into two semesters. The first semester will be free and focused more on programming/coding. For the second semester, we will dive into electronics projects which will have a student-paid cost for materials. Details for cost and payment will be shared later in the year. For this first semester, we encourage anyone with an interest to join even if they do not plan to join the second semester.
