Supporting the Little Victors at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital
We are excited to share that one of our alumni, Gina (Sykes) Widmer, a pharmacist with Michigan’s Oncology & Infusion Pharmacy Services, has invited us to uplift the Mott Toy Store this Christmas. The Toy Store alleviates the stress of the hospital experience through play, crafts, art, music therapies, and medical play. Their wish list includes items requested by the Child & Family Life Team and the patients, many of whom face financial challenges and cannot leave their child’s bedside to shop for holiday gifts.
We will be honored to support these Little Victors, their families, and the compassionate staff who care for them. So this year’s School Giving Tree will be a Toy Drive. Beginning Monday, we invite families to bring in new, unwrapped items from the Toy Store Wish List. Donations can be dropped off in the bins outside Mrs. Armstrong’s office until December 10, and we will deliver the gifts on December 11.
This is an optional opportunity to give, and we would be delighted if you feel called to participate. We encourage our families to shop with your students so they can be part of the giving magic. Many items can be found at a local Dollar Store and make sure to keep a lookout for those Black Friday sales. For a list of items Mott’s is requesting, please see below.
Our parish is also having their Giving Tree support local non-profits and St. Michael's families in need. As always, if you know a family in need, please reach out to Mrs. Armstrong for school and Mrs. Barczuk for parish. To learn more about St. Michael's Parish Giving Tree, please click here.
